The Exterior Painting Process
For this property, Empire used a low pressure wash to cleanse the exterior surfaces. Next, our team thoroughly sanded to remove all peeling paint from the siding and trim. Caulking as needed then followed as we secured any loose siding and trim boards. Empire furnished and installed filler strips at butt joints of cement board siding for added durability. Finish coats included one coat of Sherwin Williams PrimeRx, two coats of Sherwin Williams Duration to the siding, and two coats of Sherwin Williams Woodscapes to the trim of the entire home.
The homeowner desired a warmer color palette. The Empire team applied Antler Velvet 9111 from Sherwin Williams to the siding, a warm neutral complemented by the cool Rookwood Shutter Green 2809 used appropriately for the shutters. On the trim, Ice Cube 6252 makes the widows appear more expansive. The cohesive white trim stretches from the front porch columns and railings to the downspouts, fascia, gutters, and window headers.
